Do you use AI, for example, Notion AI or ChatGPT? I’m interested in AI a lot.

Pro Elephant

Everybody is using AI, and I’m going to try to do the same.

The purpose of this article is to compare the differences between NotionAI, released in February 2023, and ChatGPT, released in November 2022. In the comparison made in this report, the conclusion is as below.

  • I had AI write a blog post titled “The Best Gadgets for Programming”.
  • ChatGPT was noted to have 8% plagiarism. It is unknown how much it will affect Google’s SEO.
  • In Japanese, ChatGPT has fewer characters than NotionAI, and could not be used as is in a blog post. However, in English, ChatGPT produced the article with the same amount of words as NotionAI.
  • If you use Notion regularly, you could charge for it, but I don’t see the need to charge for making your blog.
  • Since I do not usually read English articles, it is difficult for me to judge whether the content is good or bad. It would be great to get comments from native English speakers on how they feel about it.

Overview comparison of Notion AI and ChatGPT

What is Notion AI?

Notion AI is one of the features of a cloud-based application that was originally called Notion, a document creation and task management tool that allows users to centrally manage various functions, such as document creation and task management tools, using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

It can apply natural language processing and machine learning technologies to understand user intentions and perform tasks automatically.

For example, it can automatically perform various functions such as personal task management, project management, and document creation, and is expected to help improve work efficiency and support learning in the business and education fields.

Like ChatGPT, this is an area that is expected to develop further in the future.

Currently, you can only use the AI function for free up to 20 times, which is just a trial. If you pay $8/month, you can use them without restrictions.

When you access the above link, you will go to the screen in the image below and click on “Get Notion free” to register as a user.

Then you will be asked to sign up. Enter your email address and password to register.

As it is originally a web application for task management and document creation, it is a little complicated to use, but when you press “Add a Page” as shown below, a new page will be created on the right side.

Then you will see “Start writing with AI…”, so type an instruction there to create a document using AI.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is one of the artificial intelligence models developed by OpenAI.

GPT stands for “Generative Pre-trained Transformer” and is capable of learning large amounts of text data and generating sentences based on that data Text ChatGPT was released to the public in November 2022, and within a month its user registrations exceeded 100 million, making its buzz unparalleled by any other service to date.

It is one of the symbols of progress in natural language processing technology in the field of artificial intelligence and is expected to develop further in the future.

To use the service, access the OpenAI website below, enter “Try ChatGPT,” and register as a user.

After user registration, you will be taken to the following screen, where you can write what you want us to do in the red box. (For example, you can ask, “How can I increase the number of readers to my blog?”)

I made Notion AI write a blog post

First, we asked Notion AI to write a blog post about “The Best Gadgets for Programming”.The headline text itself was written by Notion AI, and the changes to the headline were made by the author.

Typing all day can be hard on your hands and wrists. Using an ergonomic keyboard can help reduce strain and prevent injuries.

An ergonomic keyboard is designed to keep your hands and wrists in a more natural position, reducing the risk of repetitive strain injuries.

Some of the best ergonomic keyboards for programming include the Microsoft Sculpt, Logitech K350, and Kinesis Advantage2.

Dual Monitors

Having a dual-monitor setup can greatly enhance your productivity as a programmer. With two monitors, you can have multiple windows open at once, allowing you to easily switch between applications and keep all of your work visible at the same time.

This can save you a lot of time and make programming much more efficient. Some of the best monitors for programming include the Dell Ultrasharp, ASUS ProArt, and LG 27UK850-W.

Conclusion

Having the right gadgets can make a huge difference in your programming experience.

A high-performance laptop, ergonomic keyboard, and dual monitors are all essential tools that can help you streamline your work and improve your productivity.

By investing in these gadgets, you can take your programming skills to the next level and achieve greater success in your career.

I made ChatGPT write a blog post

In the same way, we commanded ChatGPT to “write a blog post about the best gadgets for programming” and had it generate the text. The following is the generated text.

The headline was generated by ChatGPT itself, and the changes to the header were made by the author.

Programming has become an increasingly popular skill in today’s world.

With technology evolving at a rapid pace, it’s essential for programmers to have the right tools to make their work easier and more efficient.

In this blog post, we’ll be discussing some of the best gadgets for programming.

Mechanical Keyboard

A mechanical keyboard is a must-have for programmers who spend long hours typing code.

Mechanical keyboards have a tactile feedback mechanism that makes typing easier and more comfortable.

They also have a longer lifespan and are more durable than regular keyboards. Some popular mechanical keyboards for programming include the Das Keyboard and the Ducky One.

Ergonomic Mouse

An ergonomic mouse is another essential gadget for programmers.

A regular mouse can cause discomfort and pain in the hand and wrist, which can lead to long-term health issues.

An ergonomic mouse is designed to reduce strain on the hand and wrist and improve overall comfort. The Logitech MX Master 3 and the Microsoft Sculpt are both excellent ergonomic mice for programming.

Dual Monitors

Working with dual monitors can significantly improve productivity for programmers.

Having two screens allows for better organization and makes it easier to switch between different applications and windows. This can save a lot of time and increase efficiency.

The Dell UltraSharp U2415 and the ASUS PB278Q are both great options for dual monitors.

Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Programmers often work in noisy environments, which can be distracting and reduce productivity.

Noise-cancelling headphones are a great way to block out noise and improve concentration.

Portable External Hard Drive

Programmers often work with large files and need a lot of storage space. A portable external hard drive is a great way to store and transport large files.

They are also useful for backing up important data. The Seagate Backup Plus Slim and the Western Digital My Passport are both reliable and affordable options for external hard drives.

In conclusion, these are some of the best gadgets for programming. Investing in these gadgets can significantly improve productivity, comfort, and overall efficiency. Remember to choose gadgets that fit your needs and budget. Happy coding!

Comparison of Notion AI and ChatGPT

Character Count Comparison

We copied and pasted the document generated by Notion AI into Word and measured the number of words and characters. The results are as follows.

The word count was 319 and the character count without spaces was 1674.

Next, ChatGPT was also measured in the same way.

The word count was 381 and the character count without spaces was 2054.

ChatGPT has about 400 more characters, but this may be within the margin of error.

This is a different result from when ChatGPT writes a blog article in Japanese in the same way.

It seems that ChatGPT is still weak in Japanese, and it seems that a little ingenuity is needed to generate Japanese articles (i.e., an instruction to think in English, create the article, and then convert it to Japanese).

Comparison of expression content

To be honest, I am not a native English speaker, so it is difficult for me to understand the exact expressions, contents and nuances of both. Therefore, it would be helpful if you could tell me which representation is superior in your comments.

Compare two sentences by running them through a copy and paste check

The two sentences were run through the Dupli Checker to see how similar they were to sentences found on the Internet.

The reason for this is that ChatGPT has appeared and a large number of novels written by AI have been submitted, and articles such as “The number of plagiarism cases has exploded and science fiction magazines have stopped accepting new stories.

Dupli Checker results

First, here are the results of the Notion AI check.

Then, here are the results of the ChatGPT check.

NotionAI had 0%, while ChatGPT was cited for plagiarism 8% of this time. We do not know how much this will affect Google’s SEO. We also assume that this number will increase in the future as AI progresses and AI-authored text floods the Internet.

Conclusion

As a general observation, I felt as follows.

  • For writing in English, there does not seem to be much difference between NotionAI and ChatGPT. ChatGPT3, which can be used without paying, seems to be easier to us.
  • It was pointed out that ChatGPT is 8% plagiarized, but we do not know how much and to what extent this will affect SEO. It is likely that this figure will rise more in the future as AI-generated text is mass-produced.
  • Since I am not a native English speaker, I cannot evaluate the nuances of the article, so I would appreciate comments on how it would feel from a native English speaker’s perspective.

AI is a hot topic today, and we may be entering the very “AI Warring States period” in the future. I will keep an eye on whether search engines will be eliminated and how the battle for supremacy among AIs will turn out!
